Walter Vergnano succeeds Dominique Meyer as the head of the association promoting the Italian Masterclass of reference for the high education of young opera singers.
The Program for the 8th Edition will be online starting the 30 January.

Firenze, 15 January 2020 – Walter Vergnano, for many years the Superintendent of the Teatro Regio of Turin and Vice President of AGIS, as well as from 2015 to 2018 Vice President of Opera Europa, is the new President of the Corso d’Opera APS Association which promotes the masterclass of the same name, which has become a model for the advanced training of the new generation of international opera singers, recognized all over the world. Vergnano takes the place of Dominique Meyer, new Director of the Teatro alla Scala, who remains at the side of the Association as Honorary President.
The eighth edition of the course will be held this year from 29 June to 19 July in Cortona, in the splendid setting of the Centro Sant’Agostino and Teatro Signorelli. Thanks to the support of MiBACT and SIAE, as part of the “Per chi crea” program and the Cassa di Risparmio di Firenze Foundation. Access to courses for students who meet the requirements (no more than 12), including travel costs, food and lodging, will be fully supported by the Association. Admission to the course takes place upon selection according to the methods, programs and timescales illustrated on the website http://www.corsodopera.org/en/projects/application-form/.
The new call will be online starting January 30, the deadline for submitting the dossiers is March 20, 2020.
