The Corso d’Opera’s 2019 has started with a great appointment at the Teatro Verdi in Florence: The New Year Concert! The theater was almost full with more than 1300 spectators.
The extraordinary concert has inaugurated the collaboration of the Corso d’Opera with the Orchestra Regionale della Toscana. The protagonists on the stage were two great and world-class artists as Alessandro Corbelli and Roberto Scandiuzzi together with some of the Corso d’Opera 2018’s students: Lucia Filaci, Costanza Fontana, Rodrigo Ortiz Miranda, Valentina Pluzhnikova, Andrea Trueba, Leslie Visco and Nina Zaziyants. Alfonso Zambuto, tenor and student of the Conservatory “L. Cherubini” of Florence was performing with them on the stage.
The artists, directed by the excellent Maestro Maurizio Agostini, sang some of the most beautiful opera arias from Don Pasquale an Elisir d’amore by Donizetti, Don Giovanni by Mozart, Manon Lescaut, Bohème, Gianni Schicchi, Tosca and Madama Butterfly by Puccini, Italiana in Algeri by Rossini, Nabucco, Rigoletto and Traviata by Verdi.
It was the achieving of an important objective for Corso d’Opera to conclude the 2018 and to welcome the new year in front of an enthusiastic public: it was the result of a determined journey that began in 2012.
We would like to thanks the Orchestra della Toscana – expecially the General Director Marco Parri and the Artistic Director Giorgio Battistelli – and our partners that have supported us; Fondazione Cassa di Risparmio di Firence; SIAE – MIBACT (Ministero dei Beni e delle Attività Culturali e del Turismo) “Sillumina – Copia privata per i giovani, per la cultura”, a national calls that both the Orchestra della Toscana and the Corso d’Opera won in 2018.
Thank you very much to all the Corso d’Opera’s partners: COMUNE DI CORTONA, CORTONA VINI, Travel Ideas, Cortona Charme, Dolce Maria, Nessun Dorma.
We are working on the next edition of the Masterclass: news and more information will come soon.
